The Chatham Pottery bay scallop mold was created from an actual bay scallop shell found here in South Chatham. This paticular Bay Scallop was very large, here measuring 4x4" of solid stoneware. Perfect paperweight! and reminder of the scallop feasts in Chatham. Bay scallops are a delicacy and are harvested only once a year on our shores in November.
